Popular Menu Items

In-N-Out Burger has, from the beginning, focused on doing hamburgers and shakes with a high level of quality and consistency. There is a reason why In-N-Out Burgers have such a loyal and loving following: you can always count on a great burger, fries and shake.

No heat lamps, no freezers, no microwaves. 100% fresh and never frozen beef which is selected, inspected and ground by the In-N-Out Burger’s own butchers. The limited menu is so that each ingredient can always be top notch.

Here are our favorites from the menu:

Double-Double

This is a hearty meal for even the hungriest customer. It starts with two 100% beef patties, two slices of real American cheese, lettuce and tomato and In-N-Out’s specially seasoned mayo sauce that has been the same since 1948. In between the patties you can have onion in your choice of grilled or fresh. The bun is toasted on the grill. A bargain at $3.60.

French Fries

These are not your run-of-the-mill fries. They are hand cut on the premises and fried in 100% vegetable oil. Hot, tender, crisp and just plain done right. Have them in an extra-large basket for $1.95.

Milk Shake

From the beginning of In-N-Out Burger milkshakes that were hand made from real ice cream were on the menu. They come in chocolate, vanilla and strawberry and are a perfect way to end your meal. $2.20.

In-N-Out’s History

The very first In-N-Out Burger was opened in 1948 by husband and wife Harry and Esther Snyder. The first restaurant was in Baldwin Park, California and focused on hamburgers, hot french fries, and cold milkshakes. They were, in fact, the first restaurant chain to use a two way intercom enabling the take out window as we know it today.

The chain expanded slowly as the owners stayed hands-on and focused on strict quality control. Over the next 28 years only 18 In-N-Out Burgers were opened in Southern California. The slow growth has not kept In-N-Out Burger from developing a very devoted following in the areas where there are restaurants.

In 1976 founder Harry Snyder died and his son Rich Snyder took over the business. In the next 20 years the chain had expanded to 93 restaurants. The first restaurant built outside of California was built in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1992.

Rich died in 1993 and his brother Guy took over for a brief time until his death in 1999. Esther led the chain until her death in 2006 when the company passed to longtime family friend Mark Taylor. In 2010, Guy’s daughter Lynsi Martinez took the reins.

As of 2015 there are 300 locations of In-N-Out Burger, all in Western states.
