Benihana has an extensive menu with fun favorites for everyone in your crowd. Those looking for lighter fare will find plenty on the Sushi and Sashimi menus as well as the large list of seafood entrées. All of the portions are generous and those with bigger appetites will like the many chicken and beef combinations.
The entertaining show at the Hibachi grill makes Benihana a favorite for kids. Be sure to check out the Kabuki Kids menu for the best choices for picky eaters and smaller bellies.

Lunch Boat
If you are looking for just the right portion for a business lunch or a pick up meal, consider a Lunch Boat. It comes with soup, salad and edamame. It also has a half portion California Roll for a taste of sushi, crisp and lightly fried vegetable and shrimp tempura as well as steamed rice and fresh fruit. You have your choice of meats but we recommend the salmon for $9.50.
Sashimi Combination with Rice
There is a large selection of Sushi and Sashimi on the menu to choose from at Benihana. Why not get the Sashimi combination so that you can taste a variety of flavors instead of choosing just one? This generous portion of mixed Sashimi is served with soup, salad and steamed rice for $22.00.
Hibachi Chateaubriand
If you have a hearty appetite, we recommend this dish for a feast to remember. It starts with a full 8.5 ounces of premium center cut tenderloin and mushrooms, grilled to perfection in a garlic butter sauce right before your eyes. It comes with onion soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, veggies grilled on the hibachi and steamed rice for $33.50.
Ocean Treasure
If you are a seafood fan and have trouble deciding, here is a great entrée choice for you. It comes with steamed lobster tail, grilled colossal shrimp, and succulent seared sea scallops. Served as a 5 course meal with soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, grilled veggies and steamed rice for $42.00.
Hibachi Chicken for Kids
Benihana is a great place to bring the kids for some entertainment with their meal. We recommend the Hibatchi Chicken which comes with choice of soup or salad, veggies on the grill, a shrimp appetizer and steamed rice. To finish the meal your kids can choose an ice cream treat as well for $9.75.
Benihana’s History
Hiroaki Aoki, founder of the Benihana chain, was the son of the descendent of a samurai warrior who owned a small but successful coffee shop in Tokyo. The coffee shop was also named Benihana. Hiroaki immigrated to the United states after completing a college program and sold Ice Cream treats on the streets of Harlem while he continued his education in Restaurant Management and saved the start-up money for his first restaurant.
The first Benihana opened in 1964 on West 56th Street in New York. It offered the first tappanyaki style food in the country. The steel grills and entertainment style of food preparation were part of the very first restaurant. A second location opened shortly after the first, and by 1972 there were 6 locations.
Benihana restaurants are held by Benihana, Inc. The president is Richard C. Stockinger. As of 2016 there are more than 70 locations of Benihana world-wide.
