The Morton’s Steakhouse menu prices are surprisingly approachable for such a high-class establishment. Maybe it’s because the whole thing got its start with what was referred to as ‘the most delicious hamburger I’ve ever tasted’ by Arnold “Arnie” Morton. The burger was so good that they called it the “Million-Dollar Hamburger” and served to start a restaurant empire.
30 years later Morton’s has over 70 restaurants throughout the United States all built on their three pillars of industry, Genuine Hospitality, Quality, and Consistency. Morton’s strives to provide an environment where customers are served by waitstaff who believe that people should genuinely care about each other, even in business. Morton’s engages with both its customers and their community by participating in philanthropic and community service based activities.

Morton’s Steakhouse’s History
Two entrepreneurs met at the most unlikely of places, the Playboy Club in Montreal, while they were both working there. The club had been going strong for awhile and was set to change its menu when Klaus Fritsch offered to make Arnold Morton a hamburger, a hamburger which would change both their futures as it turned out. Morton was so taken with the burger, calling it the most excellent hamburger he’d ever had, leading them to begin scheming towards the opening of Morton’s The Steakhouse in Chicago, a location that remains open till this day.
Nine years later the brand had expanded to 9 restaurants throughout the US with $15 million in sales, and the Quantum Restaurant Group made a move to purchase it, with Klaus Fritsch remaining in the capacity of president. It would change hands again 24 years later when it was acquired by Landry, Inc.
