Country Pride’s History

Country Pride restaurants are part of the TravelCenters of America family, which traces its roots all the way back to 1972. Founded by Phil Saunders under the name of Truck Stops of America, the company has changed ownership a number of times through the years. TravelCenters of America expanded in 2007 with its acquisition of rival Petro Stopping Centers.

The company now boasts more than 250 full-service restaurants across the United States and Canada. In addition to Country Pride, some Petro Shopping Center locations feature Iron Skillet restaurants. TravelCenters of America, which is headquartered in Westlake, Ohio, is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol of TA.
