Popular Menu Items
McAlister’s offers everything you would like to see in a deli: sandwiches stuffed with meats and veggies, homemade soups, and a variety of fresh, cool salads. You can complement any meal with your choice of 10 different deli sides (you won’t find fries here!) and, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can choose one of McAlister’s famous Spuds: baked potatoes loaded with meats, cheeses, and toppings.
What’s a deli without a great variety of sandwiches? McAlister’s specializes in making tasty, filling classics like the Club and French Dip, but they also have a lot of other choices, such as a Sweet Chipotle Chicken on panini bread or California Turkey Reuben. You also have the option to get sandwiches as wraps.
Don’t miss out on one of McAlister’s soups, whether for a meal or as a compliment to your sandwich. They offer a variety of soups each day, ranging from chili and country potato, to cheddar broccoli and a smooth tomato bisque.
While there are a ton of choices at McAlister’s, there are a few items that are very popular. Here’s a couple meals you may want to try:
Black Angus Club
McAlister’s likes to say that “this is the type of sandwich you tell your friends about,” and they’re right. This triple-decker club uses black angus roast beef, cheddar cheese, horseradish sauce, mayonnaise, and bacon — of course! — for a filling, delicious sandwich.
Grilled Chicken Salad
For lighter yet still-filling meal, the McAlister’s Grilled Chicken Salad hits the spot. They add seasoned grilled chicken to a bed of spring-mix lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, cheddar-jack cheese and croutons. You can top it all with your choice of 10 dressings, from classics like blue cheese and ranch to adventurous dressings like chipotle peach and tomato basil.
The Spud Max
McAlister’s takes baked potatoes to whole new level with the Spud Max. They take a huge Russet potato and fill it with ham, turkey, bacon, cheddar-jack cheese, black olive, and sour cream. This is a great item to share, or you can eat it alone as an entire meal.
Chocolate Lovin’ Spooncake
This decadent dessert is “therapy in cake form.” It boasts two layers of smooth chocolate ganache and a rich, dark chocolate icing. If that doesn’t make you feel good, what could?
McAlister’s History
The first McAlister’s was opened in 1989 by retired dentist Dr. Don Newcomb in Oxford, Mississippi. The original store was a renovated gas station, complete with the garage door that to this day can be found at many McAlister’s locations.
Today there are hundreds of McAlister’s restaurants, ranging from Virginia to Florida and Michigan to Arizona. Their goals has always been to “serve real food that you can feel good about” – using only fresh ingredients and always making the items to order.
