Pappas Bros Steakhouse’s History
Pappa Bros Steakhouse is part of a chain of restaurants with a history that stretches back to the immigration of a man known as H.D. Pappas from Greece. When he arrived in the Americas in 1897, he set out to open a series of restaurants in three states, an ambition which was markedly successful. In 1945 his sons moved to Houston to pursue a future in business, and opened a chain of restaurant supply stores that provided everything from kitchen equipment to chairs, refrigerators, and other related equipment. Discovering that this business, while successful, wasn’t a steady source of revenue, they too opted into the restaurant business on their own. They continued to expand their business into other areas and numerous types of cuisine, of which the Pappas Bros. Steakhouse was one of them. Today they own over 80 restaurants in 8 states.
