Popular Menu Items
The dishes on the Sweetgreen menu are a variety of bowls and salads. The focus is on freshly prepared creations that emphasis the taste of locally sourced farm-fresh ingredients. Dressings and special sauces are thoughtfully designed to tie each salad together.
The menu includes several vegan and gluten free options so those on special diets will appreciate the care and attention put into crafting a menu with a wide appeal. Sweetgreen uses only natural sweeteners such as honey and agave in their food. It truly is food you can feel good about.
Here are some top picks from the menu to consider:
Spicy Sabzi
This is one of the signature salads on the Sweetgreen menu. It has a spicy quinoa blend and roasted sesame tofu for additional protein and fiber. Veggies include organic baby spinach, shredded kale, broccoli, beets, carrots and bean sprouts. It is finished with Sweetgreen hot sauce and carrot chili vinaigrette. Vegan friendly and gluten free.
OMG Omega
Here is another great salad for a protein packed meal. Roasted steelhead is served atop a mix of organic arugula and baby spinach. Other toppings include sliced cucumber, fresh tomato, basil, avocado and nori furikake. It is finished with an Asian inspired miso sesame ginger dressing. It is a salad to remember!
Build Your Own Salad
A customer favorite on the Sweetgreen menu is the build-your-own salad selection. It allows you to customize your meal with all of your favorites. First you will choose up to 2 bases from a selection of fresh greens and grains. Then you will add up to 4 ingredients from the farm fresh toppings selections which include pecans, raisins, cilantro, beets, shredded cabbage and many other delicious and nutritious choices.
You can also add premium ingredients for an ala cart upcharge. Herb falafel, roasted sesame tofu and curry cauliflower are just a few of your options. Dressings are all gluten free and made in-house. Original recipes with gourmet flare will keep your salad exciting. Try the lime cilantro jalapeno vinaigrette or the cranberry maple dressing for something really special.
Sweetgreen History
Nicolas Jammet, Nathaniel Ru, and Jonathan Neman opened Sweetgreen in 2007, just a few months after graduating from Georgetown University. From the beginning, the concept was centrally driven by efforts around sustainable and ethically raised produce and meat. They source cage free chicken that has been raised on vegetarian feed. Veggies are source locally wherever possible, and the cheese is antibiotic and RBGH free.
The founders have also committed to raising awareness about the politics of food through an annual Sweetlife Food and Music Festival as well as collaborations with celebrity chefs such as Dan Barber, David Chang, and others.
