Ted’s Montana Grill History
Media mogul Ted Turner and restauranteur George McKerrow Jr. joined forces with chef Chris Raucci to open the first Ted’s Montana Grill in 2002 in Columbus, Ohio. Turner, in addition to his media empire, is a bison rancher.
Ted Turner has also folded in his environmental perspective into the concept of the restaurant using eco-friendly products and technology throughout the restaurants.
In addition, growing the market share of bison consumption actively incentivizes preserving American Bison populations and herds in the ranching industry, something Turner is passionate about.
As of 2016 there are 44 locations of the chain found in 16 states.
