Popular Menu Items
As a vegan restaurant, Veggie Grill is a meat and dairy-free zone, and you won’t find either on the menu. As substitutes, you’ll find fresh vegetables, grains, and high-protein super grains that help to provide a well-balanced diet.
Veggie Grill offers excellent meat alternatives such as their chickin’ veggie protein, which is a popular menu option on a variety of dishes. They also stay away from “old school” tofu, only using tofu and tempeh that come from organic, naturally gluten-free soybeans.
In addition, they have come up with creative ways to bring all types of food onto the menu that are friendly for both vegans and vegetarians. For example, who knew you could have Fried chickin’, a chickin’ milanese salad, or mac and cheese on a vegan diet?
Keep in mind that the menu changes regularly in order to include seasonal vegan dishes throughout the year, however check out some popular choices:
VG Beyond Burger
This is one of Veggie Grill’s best sellers and great option if you want a tasty vegan burger. It’s made from Beyond Meat and is topped with vegan American cheese, grilled onions, a special vegan house-made sauce, lettuce, and tomato.
Backyard Spicy Fried Chicken
Indulge in this menu item which includes 3 crispy pieces of spicy fried chickin’ with sides of street corn, cauli-mashed potatoes with gravy, pinto beans and bbq sauce. This is a seasonal menu item, so be sure it is in season if you plan on ordering it.
Buffalo Wings
This tasty appetizer is safe for vegans to enjoy and uses soy in place of chicken. It’s served with celery sticks and creamy vegan ranch dressing for the perfect side.
Veggie Grill’s History
Veggie Grill was created in order to bring more fresh and seasonal vegetables to those who are looking to dine out. The very first restaurant was opened in sunny Santa Monica, CA in 2007.
Co-founder T.K. Pillan has stated that the restaurant’s motto is “Taste and Believe.” Initially, many people may be turned off to the idea of vegetarian and vegan food, but he believes that once people give their food a try, their minds will be changed.
The goal was to always provide the freshest possible items to the menu, and nothing could be fresher than items that are currently in season. This is why they have a rotating seasonal menu to accomplish just that.
As vegan food continues to grow in popularity, Veggie Grill hopes to grow with it!
