Popular Menu Items
As you might expect from a bar, Yard House offers plenty of starters and appetizers perfect for eating alongside a cold craft beer. What you might not expect is the strong variety of healthy options and the obvious care given to quality of ingredients and depth of flavor.
A large compliment of pizzas, burgers, sandwiches and tacos add to the party atmosphere as only food eaten with the hands can. Again, unique flavor combinations that often represent cultural fusion food are what drives the creative food selections.
There are plenty of main entrees to choose from as well, including many that are suitable for vegetarians so no one will feel left out. And, the dessert menu is impressive as well.

Kung Pao Calamari
You haven’t had calamari prepared like this before. Candied walnuts are chopped fine to make a breading and combined with red peppers to make a spicy crunch on these fried squid rings. You can find this on the appetizer menu. $11.75.
Pepper Crusted Gorgonzola Burger
This hand crafted burger has plenty of gourmet flavor in a hearty portion. It comes topped with sautéed crimini mushrooms, caramelized onions and fresh arugula. It comes with fries for $12.85.
Spicy Jambalaya
This Cajun classic won’t disappoint you. Packed with shrimp, Andouille sausage and crawfish cooked up with peppers in a Cajun cream sauce. This hearty portion is packed with flavor. Have a smaller portion for $12.95 or go for the gusto with a full portion at $17.95.
Rib Eye
Perfectly prepared to order, this is a steak worth waiting for. Marbled with fat and grilled to perfection, this steak comes with spinach and corn mashed potatoes, a grilled tomato and broccolini. Yard House makes its own special steak sauce that you should try. $27.95.
Mini Trio Sampler
This is a great option off the dessert menu. It comes will tiny versions of lemon soufflé cake, peach apple cobbler and chocolate soufflé cake so you don’t have to make a hard decision at the end of your meal. $8.95.
Yard House’s History
The first Yard House was opened by Steele Platt in 1996 in Long Beach, California. He wrote the business plan for a national chain while he was a bartender in Huntington Beach two years earlier. Platt attended restaurant school at the University of Denver.
17 years later the brand was so successful that he was able to sell it to Darden Restaurants for $585 million. His original concept of a sports bar with great made from scratch food and a large selection of craft beer remains central to the business model of Yard House. There are currently 66 Yard House locations, mainly focused on the West Coast with plans to expand eastward soon.
