Georgia Chopped Pork

Famous Dave’s History
The founder of Famous Dave’s is Dave Anderson who is an Ojibwe Native American who overcame a lack of opportunity with a passion for BBQ and a tenacious perseverance. He opened the first restaurant in Hayward, Wisconsin in 1994 after spending 20 years perfecting his BBQ techniques, spice rubs and sauces.
In 1996 Dave went public on NASDAQ and 2.3 million units of stock sold on day one. However, the company showed a loss until 2000 when it finally started to become financially successful with some restructuring. By 2014 there were over 200 locations of Famous Dave’s Legendary Pit Bar-B-Que across the country.
Fun Fact: Famous Dave’s has won over 700 awards for their ribs and wings as well as a variety of people’s choice awards for best overall restaurant and catering service!
