Chili Mac ‘n Cheese
If you are looking for some comfort food to warm you up on a cold day, give this a try. It starts with a macaroni and cheese made with three cheeses for an over the top cheesy flavor. Then it is topped with a meaty chili for a filling snack to warm you to the bone.
Steak ‘n Fries Salad
This monster salad is tasty and filling. It is a little like having a cheesesteak served on a bed of fresh veggies instead of a bun. In addition to chopped steak and hot fries, this salad is topped with red onions, cucumbers, Colby Jack cheese and a hardboiled egg. Fantastic with creamy Ranch dressing.
Walking Taco
This fun favorite starts with a bag of your choice of Doritos, Fritos or Tostitos topped with taco meat and your choice of toppings such as cheese, tomato, onion or lettuce. You get to customize it to your tastes. It is served in a half bag of chips instead of a taco shell so it is great for on the go eating.
Grilled Chicken Shnack Wrapz
This hand-held wrap is a great alternative to a salad that you can more easily eat on the go. It comes with premium grilled chicken breast and veggies like lettuce, tomato and onion. Add on any extras you want for a slight upcharge. Delicious with ranch dressing for a light lunch.
Burger Sliderz
You can find these gems on the appetizer menu or burger menu. Small beef patties are served up on a perfectly sized bun for a few bites of heaven. You can add on extras like your choice of cheese, bacon, and your other favorite toppings.
Sheetz History
In 1952 Bob Sheetz purchased one of his dad’s dairy stores in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He later hired his brother Steve, and together they began expanding the chain. In the 1970’s they began a more rapid expansion and added gas pumps, including the first self-service pumps in Pennsylvania.
There were 100 locations by 1983 and a year later Bob retired and Steve took over. Bob’s son Stan became president of the company in 1995 with Steve serving as Chairman of the Board. The company remains family owned and operated.
The MTO (Made to Order) concept was added to the Sheetz brand in 1999. The idea was immediately successful and they soon started scaling up the offerings.
