Houston’s History

Established in 1977 Joe Ledbetter and Vic Branstetter signed on with George Biel to start the incredible restaurant that would become Houston’s. Throughout the United States you’ll find 19 locations bearing the name Houston’s, and countless others that fall under names such as Woodmont Grill, South Beverly Grill, White House Tavern, Gulfstream, Banderas, and more. While Branstetter and Ledbetter eventually signed off of their shares, leaving Biel as the CEO of the restaurant chain, they were originally working with him to produce a restaurant that kept a central theme while honoring the regional tastes they were set up in.
