The biggest advantage that Papa Murphy’s has over other pizza chains is that your pizza is guaranteed to be fresh and hot, since you bake it yourself whenever you’re ready to eat; hence the nickname of a “take and bake” chain. They will make the pizza in front of you, using fresh dough and ingredients, and then place it in a box with cooking instructions.

Other than the cooking, you order from Papa Murphy’s just like anywhere else. You choose your crust, sauce, cheese and toppings, and they will make it to order.

Papa Murphy’s offers five different crusts in 14 inches and 16 inches: original, pan, stuffed, thin, and gluten free (although the gluten free is only available in 12 inches). After you choose your size and crust, you can opt for one of Papa Murphy’s many styles of pizza — from the All Meat pie to the Herb Chicken Mediterranean — or you can pick from 29 different cheeses, meats, and vegetables. They also offer three different sauces, so the possibilities are limitless.

Papa Murphy’s also offers salads and dessert for a complete family meal.

Here are some of Papa Murphy’s popular pizza styles:

The Cowboy

This is a simple pizza, but it packs a lot of flavor. It comes with red sauce, Italian sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, and olives, all covered with an herb cheese blend.

Angus Steak and Roasted Garlic

It’s like a steakhouse meal on a pizza. With a creamy garlic sauce for a base, they add Angus steak, roasted garlic, mushrooms, and green onion, all sprinkled with parmesan cheese.
Big Murphy Stuffed

This pie has everything. It’s got a red sauce base and is topped with an herb cheese blend, provolone, cheddar, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, and roma tomatoes, all on a stuffed crust. If that can satisfy your hunger, nothing will.

S’mores Pizza

For dessert, try a “take and bake” S’mores pizza. It’s a cookie dough crust topped with marshmallows and chocolate chips. Can you imagine the gooey goodness fresh from your oven?

Papa Murphy’s History

The idea of “take and bake” pizza has been around as long as 1981, and the first Papa Murphy’s restaurant was opening in California in 1984. Eventually, Terry Collins consolidated Papa Murphy’s and another “take and bake” chain into Papa Murphy’s International.

Papa Murphy’s has won multiple awards over the years, including “Best Pizza Chain in America” by Restaurants and Institutions Magazine. They’ve also won Pizza Today’s Chain of the Year Award.
